Though the 1911 rifle ceased production in 1919, the K11 was produced through 1933 as the Swiss military realized the benefit of outfitting their service members with shorter, lighter, carbines. It is a magazine fed, straight pull, bolt action rifle chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss Gewehrpatrone 1911 (GP11). The Karabiner Model 1911 (K11) is the shorter, lighter, carbine model of the Swiss 1911 rifle. SWISS SCHMIDT RUBIN MODEL K11 RIFLE, 7.5×55 Identical to the Model 1911 rifle in every way except for barrel and overall length, the Repeating Carbine, Model 1911 (K-11) replaced both the Model 1905 carbine and the Model 1889/1900 Short Rifle. Receiver finish is dark, with some light wear at the rear of the receiver. A couple of dents on the right side between the stock and handguard, in between the two barrel bands. Storage mark (dent) on the left side of the stock, in between the magazine and the receiver. Furniture has some light handling marks, with some dents in both the stock and handguard seen throughout. Stock exhibits some tiger striping at the butt. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. If you have a k11 made for the private market it for sure is rare from my understanding. This Swiss K11 carbine is in very good condition with 90% original finish. From most of the private owned long guns I have seen they had a plates with the first owner's name on the stock but I do not think all or even most had these plates. I have doubts its a k00/11 but best to check. Take the k11 out of it's stock and if you see notch cut From the magazine well area it is probably a k00/11. I have not seen a k11 marked with a P like that before but check if it's a k00/11 first. Would anyone here be able to link me with a thread regarding my rifle? 2300." I haven't been able to find any information about the "P. I was curious to see if by coincidence I ended up with one of the only two recorded exceptions to the private series serial numbers after the number "P. P.2880 (theswissriflesdotcommessageboard)" "There are private K11 known to about in the number range 2899, which are not documented until today. Known numbers: It makes that all K11's in the 20.000 range are 05/11's and the highest serial is not 2630. 2300." However, I happened to see my rifle's serial number mentioned on the Swisswaffen website, and it led me here: The 05 cavalry carbines were numbered 1 - 7900 and those serials were raised to the 20.000 range to keep these serials different from the 00/11's. 2880." There is not much information regarding any private serial numbers after "P. I bought a K-11 about six months ago with the serial number "P.
